Today I’m excited to kick off my new blog, Just a Bill.  For years I’ve been toying with the idea of writing not just about work, but about many of the things that occupy my attention at any moment.  Since I do think about work a lot, I’m sure it will work its way into the conversation too.

Right now I’m excited to be starting my trial as a Happiness Engineer at Automattic; the wonderful company that brings us WordPress.com.  For over a decade I’ve been working with WordPress and I’m excited for this opportunity to help people achieve their goals with the platform.

My family and I just returned from what may be our best vacation to date at the lovely Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.  I’m thankful for the time to have this adventure with them before starting on this new professional adventure for me.

The Seven Dwarf’s Mine Trail picture above is actually the first time in well over 20 years that my wife ventured onto a roller coaster.  She loved it and went back for seconds, but still couldn’t be convinced to join us on the Rocking Rollercoaster.

It’s been a few years since we were last at Disney World and we all wondered why we waited so long between trips.  We’ll have to fix that and make a return sooner rather than later.
